Maria previously worked in the travel industry and once her time with the airline came to an end it just so happened to coincide with the birth of her first child at which time she decided it would be a great time to follow her growing curiosity of natural therapies.
Maria has suffered severe allergies most of her life and was tired of taking continual over the counter medications to alleviate her symptoms which were only getting worse.
She started to learn much about digestive health and whilst her studies began as a hobby to learn more about her own health, by the time she had finished study and her second child was ready for school she realised how important lifestyle medicine was, and so set up her own private practice.
Not long after she started practising she began working with a biochemist who taught her to incorporate pathology testing. Maria loves pouring over pathology results, which reveal all sorts of information about our health.
In her own family, Maria and her husband Peter have predominantly used natural medicine to raise their boys (now 20 & 17 years old). Aside from her great passions in digestive health and immune health (autoimmune/allergies), she also loves working with cardiovascular disease, hormones and diabetes.
